X stock mentions
How many posts on X carried each ticker's cashtag over a full day. A measure of attention, not approval - and deliberately not part of the sentiment score.
Counted by ChipSentiment. These figures are our own, queried directly against the X API and not taken from a third-party tracker, an aggregator or any other site. Thursday 27 August, a complete New York day, retweets excluded.
The week so far
The six most-posted names, daily. The vertical scale is square-rooted - NVIDIA alone would otherwise flatten every other line onto the axis.

Weekdays only. Weekend counts are collected and kept, but not shown - with the market shut they run around half a weekday across the whole board at once, so a Saturday charted beside a Friday would say more about the calendar than about any stock. A dash under "vs prior" means the name had fewer than 25 posts that day, where a percentage would describe a handful of people rather than a change in attention.
Biggest jumps in chatter
Change against the previous day, among names clearing 25 posts. A jump means attention arrived - it says nothing about which direction.
Where attention and price disagree
Each name's rank in the conversation against its rank on the board, among the 31 clearing 25 posts. A gap of five places or more in either direction is listed. This is not a signal - post volume has no relationship with the direction of a day's move - but a disagreement is a question worth asking, and neither column raises it alone.
Loud, but not behaving
Discussed far more heavily than the price action supports.
Behaving, but barely discussed
Scoring well on price and volume while the conversation looks elsewhere.

How to read this
This counts posts, not opinions. A name near the top is being discussed a great deal; whether that discussion is bullish, bearish or sarcastic is not something a count can tell you, and this page does not guess. Retweets are excluded, so a single viral post cannot masquerade as thousands of separate voices, but automated accounts are a real feature of financial chatter on X and they are counted along with everyone else.
The useful comparison is against the sentiment board. Attention and price behaviour frequently disagree, and where they disagree is usually the more interesting question. It is also worth noticing which names sit high here relative to their size - a $15bn company out-posting a $2tn one is telling you something the market capitalisation column never will.
Days are complete New York calendar days, weekends included. That differs from the sentiment history, which counts trading sessions only - X does not close at 4pm on a Friday, so a Saturday is a real day for chatter even though it is not a real day for prices.
Expect the weekend to sag, and read it as normal. With the market shut there are no earnings, no analyst notes and no price action to react to, so Saturday and Sunday run well below the weekdays either side of them - often by half - across the entire board at once. On the chart that shows up as a dip every seventh and eighth point. It is a property of when people post, not a gap in the data and not a collapse in interest. The corollary is that a day-over-day comparison spanning that boundary will move almost every name the same way: Saturday against Friday makes the whole board look like it is falling away, and Monday against Sunday makes it all look like a surge. Neither is news. The comparisons worth attention are the ones where a name breaks from the pattern the rest of the board is following.
Common questions
Which AI chip stocks are most talked about on X?
NVIDIA (NVDA) with 14,210 posts, IREN Limited (IREN) with 3,938 posts, Micron Technology (MU) with 3,009 posts on Thursday 27 August.
Where does this data come from?
ChipSentiment counts it directly. Once a day this site queries the X API itself and counts how many posts carried each ticker's cashtag - $NVDA, $AMD and so on - over a complete New York calendar day, with retweets excluded so one viral post cannot stand in for thousands of people. The figures are not taken from a third-party mention tracker, an aggregator or any other website. The count is the number of posts, not the number of accounts.
Why do weekend numbers drop so much?
Because the market is shut. With no earnings, no analyst notes and no price action to react to, Saturday and Sunday typically run around half a weekday across every name at once. It is expected behaviour rather than an error or a gap in collection, and it means a comparison between a weekend day and a weekday will move nearly the whole board in the same direction for that reason alone.
Does a high post count mean a stock is going up?
No, and it is not designed to. This counts how much a name is being discussed, not whether the discussion is positive. A stock can dominate the conversation because it has collapsed. It is shown next to the market sentiment score rather than folded into it, because the score is built purely from price and volume and stays checkable that way.
Why do the biggest companies not have the most posts?
Because attention does not follow size. TSMC is one of the largest chipmakers on earth and is posted about a fraction as often as far smaller neocloud names. That gap is the interesting part - it is information the price-based score does not contain.
Why does the chart stop at yesterday?
Because a day is only counted once it is over. A partial day charted beside complete ones would look like a collapse in interest that never happened, so the most recent complete New York day is the last point shown.
