Where the two disagree
Qualcomm is 9th most discussed of the 28 names being talked about, and 28th on market sentiment (20, cool). Running the other way, Coherent sits fourth on sentiment (79) while ranking 24th on chatter.
Neither gap is a signal in either direction, and it is worth being blunt about why. A stock can be heavily posted about because it is falling, so volume of discussion carries no direction at all. What the pairing does show is where retail attention and price behaviour have come apart — which is a question, not an answer, and neither column raises it alone.
What this is, and what it is not
A mention is one post naming the ticker, counted once however many times it says it. Titles and self-text only — comments are not read, which makes these numbers smaller than trackers that include them, and that is not an error.
None of it touches the sentiment score. That number is built from price and volume alone, which is what lets anyone rebuild it from a daily bar series and check our working. A crowd measure folded into it would be unreproducible by definition, so this page sets the two beside each other and does no arithmetic between them.
